He stole it from the Egyptians, who were black. It's so unfair how he gets the credit, but that's just part of our biased society.
How do you think the rest of the lesson went after that? What a joke.
As I recall the light-skinned Black Katherine Johnson was one in a large team of people doing rote checks of already existing calculations. It's like an engineer designing a car and then people going around the car to check that the parts are put together correctly.

And there are so many obvious ways in which Blacks HAVE contributed to America -- through their free labor, through the Arts (esp Music like Jazz), through Athletics. These are all things that Americans value.
But the incentive to exaggerate and lie and manipulate is so powerful, and so based on resentment at not being the PREEMINANT, FOUNDING race.
There is a legitimate question of why Europe developed the way it did from the 15th century on. The WEIRD book has one possible answer. There are others. There seems to be no obvious reason why Song dynasty China was unable to really kick things going just before the Mongols invaded (they had almost everything they needed) for example.
It was a good book, but me thinks the time scale should have tacked on a thousand years at very least, and not had tablet computers by the end. Likewise the Samurai Amerindians are a true stretch of the imagination.
The world war was a bit more unique than just a copy. It was the world reaching a tipping point of Muslim percentage and them trying to crusade everything. I actually liked the bit about them shelling the Himalayans out of spite for being taller than their territory's tallest peak, and the ensuing bricks of reconciliation to rebuild it.

We don't even have to look back that far in history. Let's take two from the last 20 years or so.
Africa, where the tribes are killing white farmers and taking their lands, but they don't know how to farm.
And Haiti, where they are now resorting to cannibalism because they don't know how to grow basic crops.
If the Black race were all so intelligent and capable of solving problems, why aren't these being solved?
