Holy cow that was fun to read.

The third world is a pigsty because the third world people are fuck ups. They are going to fuck up our country too, least wise that’s the evidence so far.

To be frank, I believe John Carter is being paid to be a cheerleader for Trumpism 2.0. Nothing else explains such unctuous enthusiasm so early on in this administration; not even a hint of circumspection. Personally, anything he writes going forward, I will greet incredulously.

Sceptical one, true to form. I think John Carter shoots from the hip, you can’t get more sincere. You can disagree, but I don’t think you should impune his motives.

I agree with everything you wrote here. Thanks.

Myself, I believe it's more than a question of us vs. the globalist elites. It's a cultural/spiritual war that can be seen in the arts. I don't think it's any coincidence that the man who has done the most damage to the elites came from a cosmopolitan cultural center and was very much engaged in the use of images, gestures and sounds in time. And because of this he was able to encompass the insanity of Modernism in his own instinctive behavior. As Ezra Pound said, Culture is what's left over after you forgot what you tried to learn. Culture is instinctive behavior and a solely materialistic engagement with globalist Modern elites cannot come to terms with the problem.

Axel, who do you speak of, this man who did the most damage? Foucault?

Trump. He has damaged the modern elites the most. Because he absorbs them. He accepts the chaos of Modernism and uses it rather than hiding in a suburb of the mind.

If you want to jerk modern elites around tell them to accept change and open themselves up to new experiences. This will further drive them into confusion and freak them out even more.

Nice read. I think the views expressed are a better direction of travel than what we have now. Unfortunately, because it is what it is, the immigrants are both victims and willing participants (we'd be doing similar if we were in their shoes; the autocracies in their countries of origin only survive because western countries are willing to enable and rehabilitate them). I still think we need a better version of culture in the west, especially in relation to money and capitalism (this left/right capitalism vs communism/socialism is a red herring: across the west we talk a big game about capitalism but when we look at the nuts and bolts, it's really ugly and contradictory to say the least).
