Some Unsolicited Advice for MAGA and Republicans

This assumes, of course, that they're actually interested in winning...

As we all know, the Republicans appear to have taken quite a drubbing in last Tuesday’s off year elections. Among other things, they lost the slate of statewide races in Virginia from the governourship on down; they also lost New Jersey’s election for governour, as well as the mayorship of New York City, which went to the newly crowned bugaboo of the American Right, Zohran Mamdani. Granted, these losses were disappointing. However, my personal opinion is that they were not particularly surprising and therefore these results are not actually as bad for the Republicans as many commentators have been saying.

After all, Virginia has been trending Blue for a while and the GOP nominated what was possibly the worst candidate available to try to hold onto the chief executive office in the current political climate. Likewise, New Jersey (while generally moving Right in recent elections) is still very much a Blue state, and New York City is, well, New York City. Anyone who thought Curtis Sliwa had a prayer there probably falls for scams on Facebook, too. So no, I’m not really convinced that last Tuesday was this apocalyptic disaster for the GOP.

However.

Let’s not pretend for even a moment that the election meant nothing and that there are no warning signs for the GOP from it, nor that there aren’t some lessons that they need to internalise quickly before 2026 rolls around. Indeed, there are some trends in voter demographics that ought to give Rightists across the spectrum some pause. This is especially the case with the GOP’s apparent failure to hold onto young white men and blue collar voters. These voters should be the bread and butter of Trump’s MAGA coalition, so seeing weaknesses here ought to trouble observers on our side. Yet, the people these voters elected have been straying away from the mandate handed to them. While these trends may not have played as much of a role in these particular elections due to the already-existing Blue state dynamics in play, in elections in Red or purplish states, these demographic difficulties could prove devastating.

So what are some things that MAGA, the Republicans, and the current administration need to do if they want to keep winning? I’m glad you asked!

First, they need to get serious about using power. They need to be radical. They need to recognise that the old “fair play” rules under which we used to operate when the Democratic Party was (at least a little bit) normal no longer apply. As we’ve just seen, a Democrat can literally say they want to murder their opponents’ children and their voters will still elect them. All of the screeching and squalling about it, ultimately, had no real consequence. So understand that a new set of rules is in effect and get serious about playing the game under those rules.

Should the GOP nuke the filibuster and just pass whatever Trump wants? Absolutely. Should Trump ignore judges when it’s convenient for him to do so? YES. Should the administration prosecute Democrats who break even minor, “procedural” laws? Surely they must. Should Zohran Mamdani be deported back to Uganda because he lied just a teensy bit on his naturalisation documents? Put him on the next plane out. In any way and in every way, Trump, his administration, and the Republicans need to get busy about exercising raw power and crushing the Left. Worrying about “our sacred norms” is well past its sell-by date. Oh, the Democrats might do these things if they ever get back into power? Well, sorry Frances, but they have already done these things for years. That’s all the more reason to grind them into dust now so that they can never present a threat to this nation again. Use every means to punish and harass the Left to the greatest extent possible.

Failing to do so, allowing yourselves to be hobbled by bad faith judicial rulings and left-wing procedural games, just makes you look weak. Why should the government be held hostage by Democrats trying to make hay in prime time when the GOP has 54 votes, a theoretical majority? Why should we have to put up with this? Just delete the filibuster and pass the bill. Everywhere you look, GOP politicians at the national and state levels have been projecting weakness. They can’t even find the courage to redistrict and remove race-based congressional districts in Indiana, of all places. If you let antifas get away with assaulting ICE agents, then what are you even doing? What this tells your base is that you’re not willing to fight for them, and if that’s the case, why should they bother showing up for you? Like it or not, people follow the projection of power. If you act like a winner, people treat you like a winner and vice versa. The Left knows how to do this even when they’re out of formal power, which is why they’re anything more than a speed bump right now.

This leads to my second point, which is that you need to let your base know that you’re with them, that they are your clients and you’ll do everything you can as their patron to protect and promote their interests. This is an area in which the Republicans have been historically terrible. The cycle repeats over and over and over - Democrats go to some crazy excess and anger the majority of the electorate, which then responds by electing Republicans, only to then see the Republicans piss this advantage away over the next couple of election cycles until the voters get sick of it and return Democrats to power. And it’s all because Republicans in Congress and the various statehouses don’t understand the concept of giving your voters what they want and are always trying to “appear reasonable” by “reaching across the aisle.” Brother, if the voters had wanted you to implement Democratic policies, they would have just elected Democrats.

Voters elected Trump to deport illegal aliens - not just “the bad apples,” but all of them. Voters elected Republicans to bring jobs back to middle America, not import infinity H1-Bs from India. Republicans need to understand who their base is - and it’s not “hard-workin’ immurgrunt nat’rul conservatives from Guatermala.” It’s white working- and middle-class heartlanders from “flyover country,” by and large, the folks who built America. Republicans need to be Sailer Strategy-maxxing. They need to accept that their base is white folks who give New Yorkers the ick and roll with it.

So what do they do instead? They give us Winsome Earle-Sears, an immigrant black woman with a hyphenated name, a history of countersignaling Trump, and who supports stuff like DEI because it benefits her tribe. I can’t imagine why blue-collar white folks from Wytheville were less than enthusiastic this time around. In their quixotic quest for the magical key to “winning the black vote” (something like 10% of the electorate), they’re pouring water all over the enthusiasm of that much larger chunk of the white vote who routinely votes for them.

Third, Trump and the GOP in general need to focus on the economy, not on esoteric foreign policy “achievements.” Like it or not, the average voter doesn’t give a rip about Israel or Ukraine or whatever else. What they do care about is being able to get a job, buy a home, and raise a family. Focus on their priorities, not those of AIPAC or anti-American busybodies in some thinktank.

Trump’s pursuit of tariffs is the right way to go, I truly believe this. The purpose of tariffs is, ultimately, to reshore industry and restore economic livelihood to an American heartland that has seen it shipped overseas by corporations trying to squeeze out an extra couple of percentage points to their bottom line. But we need to understand that this kind of thing doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time to rebuild factories and retool industries. It’s worth the investment, but it won’t happen with the snap of the fingers.

Sadly, one of the (many) failings of democracy is that it encourages the electorate to be shortsighted and high time preference. So what this means is that while you’re enacting policies that will take multiple election cycles to accomplish, you need to be throwing some quick and easy bones to your base to prevent them from hemorrhaging in desperation. There are things that are being done which should be ramped up, and other things which need to be started. Deportations need to be accelerated to open up jobs for blue-collar workers who are most often in direct competition with these immigrants. The H1-B and other visa programs need to be rolled back and eventually eliminated to do the same for middle-class, white-collar workers. Oh, and while we’re at it, we’re going to need to get serious about curtailing the use of AI to replace workers as well. I mean, who cares about not giving away all of our jobs to Indians if we just give them away to clankers instead? Business owners will just have to be told to suck it up. Corporations should have to understand that part of their social responsibility as members of our national community is hiring our people to work for them, if they want to be able to do business here.

And also, there is a legitimate national security aspect to this. allowing in foreign workers and students has opened us up to all manner of subversion and espionage by Chinese and other embedded agents. And don’t forget that India is essentially using the H1-B program as a way to undermine and destroy remaining American industry. The various programs touted as “bringing in the best of the best!” are really just being used to do great harm to our country and people.

Fourth, focus on appealing to the younger generation, especially to young men (since women eventually follow the direction men go, no matter how “liberated” they sometimes think themselves to be). Now, I’m sure at this point some bow-tied politico types are reading this and smugly reminding themselves of James Carville’s old saw, “You know what you call people who depend on the youth vote? Losers!” Well, that may have been the case back in the 1990s, but we live in a very different set of circumstances now, one in which the younger generation can no longer be assured of enjoying the same opportunities and standard of living as previous generations. That proves to be a lot more motivating for Gen Z than just being able to smoke pot and get away with it was for Gen X.

There is a certain type of boomer out there who opposes the MAGA agenda because they simply cannot understand that the world has changed greatly over the last three decades especially. These are the guys telling twenty-somethings to “suck it up” and “pull themselves up by their bootstraps” from the cockpit of their new $75,000 RV. This is the most incredibly tone-deaf idiocy imaginable. Boomers came of age in what was literally the most charmed, handed-to-them-on-a-silver-platter epoch in the entire history of mankind. At the start of their bildungsroman, the United States had an outright majority of the world’s GDP because we were practically the only advanced nation that didn’t have its industrial complex bombed to smithereens in World War II, and for a while at least, it only got better from there. You had to be practically braindead not to succeed in that environment. Nowadays, young people have to deal with cheap imported foreign scab labour, being systematically discriminated against in schools and on the job because they’re white, and a whole host of other methodically applied disadvantages that they face through essentially no fault of their own.

But here’s the kicker - the boomers are going to die off sooner rather than later, while the youngsters are going to be around for a while. So you tell me where the future lies. And as the father of one of these kids, I want him - and them - to have the opportunities that are theirs by right because they are our people and our future. I don’t want that birthright being given away to a bunch of foreigners just because they’re willing to work for cheap wages. But you know what? If the GOP doesn’t want to follow up on Trump’s inroads with this cohort, then they’re going to continue to move towards the Left because at least the Left takes them seriously. But consider this - as I’ve pointed out before, the end of our current collapse phase is coming sooner rather than later. It’d probably be nice to have the military-aged white kids on our side, don’t you think?

Lastly, and perhaps most important of all because it is this which is essentially hobbling the other things above from taking place, we need to get serious about suppressing the ConInc holdovers and ne’er-do-wells from our midst. I’m talking about the Mike Pences and the Ben Shapiros and the rest who, having seen Trump and MAGA begin to make a difference for the American people, decided that this needed to stop as soon as possible. I wrote about these people a couple of weeks ago, how they only act to try to gatekeep the Real Right from taking effective steps against the Left. All they do is run cover for Democrats while trying to undercut and silence any effective voices that emerge from our side.

Some of these people may simply be sincere boomercons who can’t grasp the truth that it’s not still 1985 and that we don’t need to poke our noses into things not our business all over the world, nor that “tax cuts and more capitalism will solve everything!!” is increasingly not true. This, again, goes back to these folks simply not being able to understand the new paradigms. America is not a hyperpower anymore who can just impose its will without opposition as we did in 1991 with the first Gulf War. Likewise, there is a huge gulf now between “the free market,” on the one hand, and “capitalism” on the other, and I wish more folks would grasp this distinction. The former is what people usually think of when they think of “capitalism” - buying and selling freely, being able to start businesses, genuine economic competition, etc. That’s what we want to promote and support because it really does bring broad-based prosperity.

Unfortunately, the free market has been increasingly curtailed by “capitalism” (a word which, at its base, just means “the concentration of capital”), which now essentially amounts to huge multinational corporations forming anti-competitional cartels that amass huge amounts of wealth and then use it to subvert the sovereignty and people of the various nations in ways that fit into the agendas of various internationalist bad actors.

It is THIS which drives the greater share of the subversives within the Right who oppose Trump and the MAGA agenda. We know that huge amounts of these monies get shoveled into an intricate, interlocking web of dark money laundries which eventually end up going to various NGOs and other organisations that exist to flood the West with hostile alien peoples while buying off our politicians to ensure it isn’t stopped. Don’t you think some of this money finds its way into the pockets of politicians and influencers on the “Right” to pass legislation favourable to globalists while gatekeeping credible opposition?

So when you see people telling us, for instance, that we need more H1-B labour from India (pro-tip: I know from first-hand experience that we don’t), it’s almost assuredly because they benefit from this somehow, either because their company gets cheap labour or because they’re paid off to help other companies get cheap labour. So on and so forth. I strongly suspect that relatively little of the opposition to the Real Right and the MAGA agenda is done in good faith. Either way, I would reiterate that we need to get serious about purging these folks from being able to speak for us. In other words, if they want to provoke “a civil war within the American Right,” then I say we give it to them good and hard with no holds barred.

Of course, I’m not at all certain that the Republican Party would even try to heed any of this advice, since elements within its leadership appear to be pretty much set on being “graceful losers.” Nevertheless, it’s incumbent upon us to at least try to work around those people and see our agenda enforced since this is intrinsically what is better for this country and the American people. Further, the alternative (sadly) is a chain of events which eventually culminates in a low-level civil war instigated by the progressive Left, something those people always end up doing because of the inherent revolutionary impulses within their ideology. If we want to stop them and “cushion” the impact of our final collapse point, then we need to find get serious in ways that go beyond “votin’ harder!”
