The post-modern approach to patriotism really stinks

Last week, we were treated to the spectacle of yet another crazy weirdo setting himself on fire for his cause. In this particular case, the weirdo in question appears to have not had any specific political agenda aside from schizophrenia. Of course, I said “yet another,” because as you may remember, there was a previous wacko who immolated himself a few weeks ago. Aaron Bushnell, a 25-year-old active-duty member of the Air Force, set himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington DC to protest Israeli treatment of the Palestinians. In that case, he very much was a proponent of a particular agenda. It’s just sad that that agenda has nothing to do with the good of the United States and her people.

What needs to be understood from the start is that Bushnell’s suicide was not an act of heroism. It was not a “self-sacrifice for a noble and worthy cause.” Indeed, it was an act of spiritual treason against the United States of America. An active-duty member of the military killing himself on behalf of a foreign people who are often actively hostile to our own nation, and who are certainly completely culturally incompatible with us? This is a very definition of madness.

But Bushnell’s act serves to highlight a growing pathology in our society. There is a significant segment in our society - generally that which leans to the ideological Left - which actively despises America and elevates just about everything else above her (including their own vision for what they want to transform America into). Unsurprisingly, this guy was apparently a nutso redditard, so honestly his self-destruction just means there is one fewer Wokester drone pilots out there itching to bomb towns full of Heritage Americans because they’re “racist” or whatever. But sadly, even many normie “conservatives” have imbibed the progressive Left mindset on this. The good of other nations is put before our own, the good of other peoples is advanced ahead of ours - the normiecon just chooses a different set of foreigners and foreign powers to favour than the progressives.

Now personally, I believe that America ought to look out for Americans first. If we’re spending money, then spend it helping the Americans who are losing jobs, unable to buy their own homes, the veterans who need health care, and so forth. Instead, we send money to Israel and Ukraine, to Palestine and Pakistan, while importing cheap labour to dispossess Americans of their jobs and drive up housing costs. I care more about one American being killed by illegal aliens than I do about the Israel/Palestine and Ukraine/Russia conflicts.

Yet you have a guy in the Air Force - who is supposedly tasked with defending this country against her enemies - who was so worked up about something that doesn’t even involve his people that he would kill himself over it? Utterly pathological.

But that’s the Left - it hates the familiar and close at hand while mythologising that which is distant and disconnected. This isn’t just my opinion, either. There is actually a goodly body of data to back this up.

Taken literally, this heat map means that left-wingers care more about “all animals in the universe, including alien lifeforms” than they do about their families, friends, and people in their own countries. It’s tempting to think this might be overstating the case except that about a month ago, there was a social media kerfluffle that took place in which several prominent leftie accounts were literally siding with the alien bugs in the Starship Troopers movie over humanity itself.

This is, of course, a gross inversion from all right principle. Further, it is one that originates from a profound mental disturbance in the progressive psyche, a drastic sense of self-alienation that hints at a self-hatred being turned outward against the world, and specifically those closest to themselves. In short, leftists hate their own people because, deep down inside, they hate themselves. Their affinity for that which is furthest from them in likeness is a symptom of their own spiritual and psychological hollowness. The hicklib hates his fellow ruralites for this reason. The left-wing urbanite hates his fellow Americans in “flyover country” because of this. They all prefer the transnational, the “refugee,” the immigrant over their own people because they are trying, in some sense, to escape themselves.

Unfortunately, just as a schizophrenic homeless man with a knife rarely leaves passers-by alone, these left-wingers with this mental illness cannot leave the rest of us be.

This principle is amply demonstrated by the inverted and subverted sense of what constitutes “patriotism” among those within the Regime and its puppets. The normal person thinks of patriotism as “love for one’s own country and people.” For people on the Left and in left-wing adjacent elements of “conservatism,” such as neo-cons and NAFOs, patriotism is measured by one’s fanatical devotion to everything but one’s own people.

Democrats who want to Make Ukraine Great Again are overtly anti-American - after all, we’ve known the Left has hated America for decades. But what to make of so-called “patriots” such as Adam Kinzinger, former Republican representative from Illinois who gave up trying to convince even his own district (as an incumbent) that he deserved to continue at his spot in the House? People like him, Liz Cheney (who also failed to win re-electing from actual American voters), and other cheerleaders of empire cast themselves as the “real” patriots…because they support taking billions of dollars out of the pockets of Americans to give them to foreign countries (most of which is going to line corrupt pockets, by the way). In every way, these NAFO-types are fundamentally anti-American while loudly professing the opposite. There is, however, a not-so-subtle difference between being genuinely patriotic and being a Regime enforcer. But again, it all stems from the alienation of these people from their fellow Americans - in many ways, the Democrats, Cheneys, Kinzingers of this world are embarrassed to be associated with the rubes who inhabit the non-cocktail party portions of this country, preferring instead the foreigner and alien far away.

This is why the current Regime is illegitimate - inherent in having a “government” is that this government will privilege its citizens over and against foreigners and will recognise its duty to protect them from outsiders. The current Regime does precisely the opposite of this in every way. Not just by not enforcing our immigration laws, and indeed actively importing hostile foreigners, but also in the way it treats our veterans, the way it undercuts our labour, etc. A real American supports his or her fellow Americans and does not work to undercut and destroy them. In effect, NO TRUE PATRIOT would ever make the argument that “such and such group of foreigners are ‘better Americans’” than our Heritage American people are. Doing so automatically disqualifies one from patriotism in toto.

This highlights, once again, this fundamental failure mode of modernity which is that it discourages loyalty towards one’s own people, etc. (i.e. things that deserve our loyalties) while encouraging fealty to the globalist, transnational Regime on the basis of ideology, highlighting once again the difference between worldview and ideology.

This preference - loyalty - for the foreign and even the dangerously hostile is seen in how the “fashionable Left” wants us to continue to import millions of foreigners, no matter how many crimes these people commit or how much damage they do to our social fabric. Further, most of these aliens bring with them their ethnic and social conflicts and disagreements from home and also serve as foot soldiers for the global Left’s agitations. Take, for example, Riddhi Patel, a pro-Palestinian protester who was recently arraigned for threatening the Bakersfield, California, mayor and city council for not passing a pro-Palestinian “Gaza cease fire” resolution. Why does an Indian even care enough about this to threaten to kill complete strangers in their homes? For the same reason our college campuses and many highways are being shut down by left-wing foreign aliens of all stripes. None of these people even belong here, yet they’re not only here, but disrupting Heritage American society at the behest of foreign interests that shouldn’t even concern us at all.

All of these things point to a fundamentally alienated, hyperrealism of the mind that infects liberals - including many “classical liberals.” This is why even many BoomerCons have no shame in rolling out the “immigrants are better Americans than Americans!!!” nonsense. No, they’re not, and they never will be because America - despite what these people want or hope - is not actually just an international commercial zone populated by fungible consoooomer units. It actually is a land inhabited by the descendants of the people who settled it and who still make up the majority of the population, despite immigration past and present.

As with much else that we find in the fracture zone that exists between the Left and Right in this country, there is not going to be any “reasoned argumentation” that talks the Left out of their insanity on these issues. They are too alienated, too divorced from “normal” modes of thinking that have typified human societies for millennia. The only option really is to just beat them and then restore sanity. This is certainly not impossible. Indeed, as we accelerate towards our Seneca Point of collapse, the Regime’s grip on power will slip away. The key right now is to be positioning ourselves to step in, to “pick up the crown” once we find it lying in the gutter, after the current order ceases to be.
